Is the Samsung Z500 any good?

neither. Z500 is poor. bad screen, poor cam, and bat is a little poor too! There are MUCH better phones out there.

Also paying around £50 for it on a £25 p/m contract is just stupid!
 
The thing is I want a flip-phone that looks GOOD. Sony Ericsson make the best phones IMO, but the high-spec ones are too bulky and look hideous. That new W900i would be perfect, but it has that horrible S700i swish thing and is like a brick.

So I'm after style tbh, although it has to be 3G, otherwise I'd go with the V3i

Have you been slagging off the phones for a genuine reason or do you personally just hate flip phones?
 
No dont hate flip phones the Z500 and most of the Samsung phones out at the mo are a bit poor. Why is it that you want a 3G phone?
 
At the end of the day, I'm not too fussed about whether or not the phone is 3G. I've just seen the Vodafone TV thing in action and I was quite impressed.

As I said before though, I want a phone that's small and stylish. One that doesn't make it look like you've got a vibrator strapped down your pants when placed in your trouser pocket

I thought there was meant to be hundreds of phones, but the options are pathetic tbh.

LOL, its like saying whats better pooo or the s word. No there not to bad. If you wanna watch TV then go for the V3x as you wont be able to see the picture on the Z500 as the screen is to small. Be warned though the V3x is no that small phone!

When i phoned up o2 to get my up grade i asked about this one and the women herself told me that it wasnt great, that there were much better phones available! :)
 
Well I need to reach a decision by Wednesday. After about 30 minutes I managed to get through to someone who offered me pretty much any phone for free, as long as I paid something like £30/month.

Spamalot, would you agree with this?

W900i - features. Although I've actually seen this and it is one HUGE phone, so not my thing really! shame tbh.

V3x - style? I haven't seen this, and many say it looks awesome, whilst others say it looks ugly and horrible.

All in all, the phone industry SUCKS.
 
Z500 isnt that bad, watching TV isnt that bad on it either. Screen is pretty good too, dunno what you were comparing it to Spamalot. The v3x screen is miles better too, but get ready for 2 day battery life tops on the v3x. I would get the v3x cos of the huge screen and 2mp camera. Best to go into a store and have a look for yourself.
 
Many sites are reporting that Samsung's Z510/540 are out this month. If he says they're not out for another few months, then I'll go for the V3x. Battery life isn't really a problem tbh, as I have to recharge my iPod video pretty much every night :(

Although is the v3x a nice looking/style phone?

I think the samsungs are quite ugly, but the v3x isnt to my taste too, but when you hold it its pretty solid. The dark coloured one looks really nice though.

And I'm willing to bet Vodafone only do their "custom made" one... usually the most ugly with a customized GUI which actually slows down the performance of the phone.

but yeah its a funny metallic beigy one, best to see in person
 
Well all the reviews I've read say it's very "solid" but they don't state whether it's a visually appealing phone.
