Hi,got a quick question , i have just got my new Wired ADSL2 + Router, Billion 5200 Series.

I have ordered this by mistake , coz i really wanted the Wireless one, any ways, i am wondering maybe there is some kinda software or a small device which i can connect to this router and enable the wireless? Instead of buying a new router again.

If you know anything what could help me, plz leave a comment,

Regards

Vairo

There's no wireless to enable on that router. If you're after a separate device to add wireless support they're called access points.

I have googled some, but they come up as wireless routers, at least they look like a simple router, besides they are way more expensive up to 200gbp ouch, can't do that.

Can you link me to any good one for a reasonable price ?

There's only one cheap one listed at OCuK, no idea if it's decent.

Anything else and you're approaching the price of a normal router. And yes they look the same, the only differences apart from the internals will be the arrangement of ports and lights.

Cheers for the links and info,

Decisions, decisions, mmm not sure what to do, was hoping that the cheapest ones would cost around 8-15gbp tops, but yeah now i know why they are so costly:

Users can use this feature to build up a large wireless network in a huge space like airports, hotels and schools etc.

The Billion BiPAC 5200G R4 Wireless-G ADSL2+ 4 port router costs only 43.00 gbp , so i guess it is just better if i simply buy new router or try to exchange it.

Thanks for info lads,

So if i get this one Netgear WG602v3 Wireless Access Point , I will be able to connect it to my router and use wireless in my flat, is that correct ?

I am just wondering if my ADSL 2 + router Billion will work together with Netgear WG602v3 Wireless Access Point.

The wireless range doesn't have to be too big, coz i will be using it only in 2 bed flat.

Cheers guys,

Vairo

It should work fine, mixing brands won't be an issue using ethernet. Don't see any real reason to spend double the money on the Netgear though, Edimax are a decent enough brand.

I have bought this Dell TrueMobile 1170 Access Point, didn't have any CD with me, been trying to google how to set it up but google is useless on this one.

I have plunged it in and looks like it does show up the connectivity and wireless, but i wasn't able to make it work on my mates laptop though, how can i set it up properly?

Could anyone walk me through it please?

Thank you.
