Hi all,

My friend has a 54 Plate 1.2 Corsa.

She's owned it from new and has only covered 21,000 miles.

Her car has been back to Vauxhall several times......for a very strange and intermittent sound that comes from the front passenger wheel... and each time Vauxhall have replaced her brake pads..

She is now on her 4th set of Brake Pads..!! This can't be right?

Does anybody know anything about any known issues on this?

Thanks

Unless she drives around with her foot on the brake pedal all the time, I would say the main issue in this case is the complete inability of the Vauxhall dealership to diagnose any underlying problem.

Can you describe this strange sound?

...Well going on what my friend has told me - it's like a metal on metal grinding sound... as well as a brake squeal... and it mostly happens when you apply the brake...

Its a known fault regarding shims in the calipers.

There is a customer care line she can ring to find out about known recalls. I dont have it to hand i'm afraid but I'm sure you could google it.

Its the Vauxhall customer technical centre line (or something like that).
