is there a new nvidia shield tv coming out?

bought the shield in the end direct from nvidia store. some tech site posted about a new firmware update that sorts out a fair bit of issues especially with the remote.
not happy with the lack of support you get with other cheapo android media players that often only have the out of box experience and never receive an update in their lifetime.

good offer on at the moment, shield + remote + gamepad works out cheaper than the remote only option.

so the shield tv has arrived, and its working great does video playback from lan exactly how i wanted it.

soooo i thought i would try one of those games on that geforce now streaming thing. OMG i cant believe how decent it is. i did not expect it to be so good. shield tv can easily double up as a console for me now. very surprised. may try gamestream from my pc to it at some point too. still setting it up. but what a surprise i got, the graphics are much better than any android game i got off the play store.

Apart from the shield is there anything else out there that puts out dts HD / dolby true HD from plex? Currently using an old roku box but would like to be able to output these standards.

i think the xaomi mi box may be able to do it https://www.mi.com/en/mibox/. but after wasting my time with various other android boxes which were just slow i got the shield. should have bought the shield when it first come out 3 years ago. its still the most powerful one out of the lot and has had regular updates.

Would like to know the answer to this as well. I think you can get the new apple TV to kinda do it with an app but it outputs as pcm.

I had some issues with my shield but updates have sorted things out and is now a relatively trouble free (fingers crossed) plex media player that outputs dts HD / true HD consistently. I've tried fire tvs, Roku's, media PCs and nothing beats the shield as an all round media streamer with decent app support.

It's not perfect and I only have a 1080p screen so can't comment on the 4k issues but I haven't seen anything better (yet).
