If there is, I have just become a serious contender.

I have an older, but quite nice LianLi case. There's not enough room for a 420 rad inside, at least without some serious messing about. So I decided to mount my 420 on top. I', not so much fussed on how it looks as long as performance is top notch. i72600k at 4.8. It goes along nicely.

Anyway I though I would screw the fans to the top of the rad and used some nice hex volts I had. Well they 'seemed' to have plenty of clearance. So I used a small power screw driver and attached the fans.

I had to do a double take as there was now a large pool of coolant under the rad. I stupidly had pierced the radiator itself! So panic, quick turn off and mop up. A real mess as the coolant (fessor one) was no all over my 290x and the mobo.

Mopped up some more. Cleaned the boards and used a hair dryer to dry some more.

I ordered a new rad from OCers and though I would loo at the damage to the old rad. Well Screws through in 4 places!. Ahha I said in an Alan Partridge sort of way. I have some of that boiler repair putty. So I cleaned up the rad holes and applied loads of this putty stuff.

I must say I am amazed as it worked a treat. After another leak test , I re-installed/refilled and prayed to the PC gods that the system would boot.

Happy days it did.

I was pretty lucky. My optical drive tray was opening and closing randomly. It was green inside. So again cleaned it up and all was good.

Anyway. I have learned a valuable lesson. Don't start messing on your rig in the wee small hours with a few beers, oh and always check screw length.

Done that. Fixed loads of rads people had done the same.

I mounted my first ever cpu block with the clear film still on between the block at cpu. Safe to say my temps were a little high.

How about putting the CPU heatsink on the wrong way round? Old socket A board and somehow I managed to get the heatsink on 90*° from where it was supposed to be. Needless to say it fried the CPU when I turned it on.
