Is there a known bug with the 1950pro AGP cards?
I have heard the system will restart or crash if the temp of the card reaches 70+ degrees celcius!
Problem reported is the fan wont go any faster when in 3D mode which is not great because then the temp will get around 70-75 degrees, It causes a system reboot !
There are various reports on games running fine and some not, this is due to the fact some games dont use the max speed core / memory bus and thus the card doesnt get as hot?, but some do I've been told some, ie CoH are causing problems! This game uses a lot of resources, so... that might be why many X1950pro users have a problem with the game crashing etc. I had a problem, but it turned out to be a driver issue! Will ATi T.T. allow for fan speed adjustment, or is this card not supported yet? Any thoughts on this guys?

I have heard many people with this card are having problems especially with CoH, could be a VGA BIOS isssue? I know I had problems originally with the game, turned out to be a driver issue! I also thought 70oC was low, as well over 100oC is no problem for a VGA card, the GPU will normally automatically lower its voltage to save from any damage! If that fails it will shut down, could be some bad intructions, BIOS related?

Well i've just got mine installed and running.

So far temp has not gone over 68 and so far it has been fine.

I'm about to put the side of the case on and run a few tests to check this out, i'll let you know shortly.

Ok, just done a quick test with 3dmark06 and managed to raise the temp upto 74 and the fan kicked it.

So it doesnt appear to be with all cards should this be an issue for some.

For ref mine is a Saphire 512MB version.

EDIT: Just a quick further update. It has now been running at a cap of 85 for last 10 minutes with no problems at all.

I cant seem to be able to check temps on my board, don't think GeCube use a thermal diode for temp monitoring, I cant monitor fan speeds either! Does ATi TT or Tool support the X1950pro (AGP) yet, what software are you using to monitor temps? Is it Sapphire's own? I have Everest Pro 2006 but it cannot monitor my VGA Card! Any ideas? Very pleased with the card though!

i've just replied to your thread over at guru3d... :p

i don't think these gecube agp cards have a temp sensor.... :(

my sapphire card is fully supported in the overdrive section of the ati control panel, ati tool and everest. but it doesn't like to overclock though. :D
