Got a PC from a friend that needs reformatting.

Before I go ahead, I've collected any drivers I need. The only ones I'm not sure about are his mobo chipset drivers. It's one of those cheapo basic PC's that small independants will build for customers and I cant figure out what type of mobo is fitted.

Is there a prog that I can install and use to find out?. Think SiSoft Sandra does it ( cant remember ) ?.

Because there are no manufacturers markings etc on it as it looks like a cheapo generic type. There's an FCC number on it which I suppose might throw up some info but other than that the only thing I can see is the marking on the SiS onboard graphics chip.

Everest Home edition did the biz, cheers fellas.

It turns out its a PC Chips motherboard, an M863G.

Anyone got any clues as to where I can get the audio and onboard vid drivers for this?.

Audio is SiS 7012, Vid is SiS 330 Mirage according to Everest. Mainboard chipset appears to be SiS 741GX, but XP appears to have picked up everything apart from the audio and video when I look in device manager.

Thanks.

Well yeah, I would have, but then again, I'm lazy and wanted you serfs and peasants to link me up first to save me looking for it. :p
