without a microphone you cant check the actual noise of your PC, but theres plenty of programs available to monitor the speed of your fans that are plugged into the motherboard. i'm pretty sure HWmonitor is the OcUK favourite for this, but im not sure if it does the graphics card.
for the graphics card fan go with MSI afterburner because it can do so much as well as monitor fan speeds. it is can take screenshots in multiple formats, record video + audio for as long as you like, monitor framerates and of course monitor your graphics card fan speed and temperature. its also arguably the best graphics card overclocking software out there

It's possible that you'll only be able to change the speed of the CPU fan. Any other fan attached may just have rpm sensing but no control.
If so there are several ways to lower noise.
1) Use a fan controller.
2) Fit a resistor/Zener diode to the noisy fan to slow it down.
3) Do the 7v or 5v trick.
4) Replace fan with a slower turning fan.
Thx mate might buy a fan controller then(would that be able to control all the speeds for case fans etc? my 80mm fan is rated at 1800RPM so tht shud a little loud nt sure about my 120mm front fan though.
Is 720RPM for a Gelid Tranquillo CPU cooler quiet? guess my problem is not that then since its very low. Fan Speed: 750 - 1500 RPM
thx
I reckon only buy a fan controller once you have confirmed that you can't control the speeds with bios settings or software. Speaking for myself I always prefer to know that my fans will speed up automatically when the temps increase. I bet I would always forget to twist the dial to increase speed.![]()
Thanks for the help guys, well I've just ran speedfan and this is wat I got:
All the other speed are on 0%
and Speed 04 is on 5%
Speed 05 is on 100%
Speed 06 is on 100%
do I turn them all down to 0%?? im not sure which 1s they are for.
However I can confirm that my exhaust fan is over 1800RPM as I plugged the plug on that and it doesn't show up. But even with that off it doesnt make any noise difference as its loud as it was before.
I don't think it can monitor my 120mm front fans as the power is connected only thru 4 pin molex(would that be why?)
