Is there a reason not to go for 64bit win7?

I'm having problems with PB and Cod:WAW but this has nothing to do with 64bit and everything to do with punkbuster not releasing a windows7 client as windows7 uses some diffrent processes and so can throw up errors for PB.

Not doubting you, but my experience with Win7 and COD:WAW is completely different. I've not been kicked or had a single problem with it. Granted I don't play it much but I've done about 25hours since I installed RTM.

Im going to be mean and say the only reason to ever go for a 32bit os for a new pc now is for being an idiot!

64bit has been around for a fair few years now, vista 64 is the first really usable 64bit windows and since its been sorted into a good os no one should ever contemplate 32bit windows (unless old p4 and older hardware is on the cards really...)

So far with me there's only a few games that don't run on win 7 x64 and neither are a 64bit vs 32 issue

NWN2 (stupid DX version check that doesn't see more up to date version than DX10)

and
Sacred 2 (was working brilliantly and then thay patched it to 2.43 and broke 64 bit (vista and win 7) and Win 7 32 compatibility

I have a reason for not going 64bit - Canon LBP5000. They haven't bothered to release a driver and it doesn't look like they will either :(

I suggest you do a dual boot

Xp 32 bit ( for gaming mainly ) , because most games run better/faster under Xp

Win7 64bit , for when you want to use serious 64bit apps that actually use more than 2G of ram.

Games run faster under XP 32 bit? Since when? Mine certainly don't!

I suppose it depends on what games you play
The only one I found ran faster on win7 was DCS Black shark , when I benchmarked my
games under both O.S.'s

Which of the games you tested on both O.S.'s ran faster under win 7 64bit ?

I used to use 32 bit but when i upgraded to 2x2 gig ram i was advised to go on 64 bit, the only problem is i can't tell any difference between the 2, i see people say go 64 its better but where apart from reading 4 gig of ram that's it.
