Is there a virus going round?

well, I finally went into bed around 11pm and kept getting the damn shivers wrapped myself in my covers didn't seem to work much. So just stayed put until I gradually warmed. Now, back to the nausea, possible vomiting so now out of bed and sat up.

bah

I've been lucky so far this year, in a way at least. I had the flu-jab and havn't been ill once, despite all of my friends getting ill with whatever was going around.

But on the downside I crushed a disk in my spine, which resulted in the xmas period being in pain and doped up on painkillers. Not sure wether that's worse than the illness or not. :/

Found this on the BBC news site, they're saying it's the Novovirus.

Looks like the problem is people returning to work straight after the symptoms have gone but they're still able to spead the virus.
Problem is can you see work going for the line "I feel OK now but I have to stay home for 2 more days" ?!

I've had a bad cold and chest infection and just got over that, as for flue if your not laid up in bed feeling as though you are dying then you dont have flu. Flu last weeks not days and once you get the flu and recovered you make sure you get a flu injection for next year.

I felt rough a week or so before Xmas but it didn't get worse than a bit of the runs. The gf came down with a full blown stomach bug the day before christmas eve though, and almost fainted. Her lips went blue and everything..scary stuff! Luckily it only lasted for 24hrs.

Well it had better be over with before I get back next Friday. I don't want to be coming back to some plague-ridden country full of sick people and germs :p

ive felt fine over the past few days apart from losing my voice completely. which was odd, no headache, no runny nose, my throat didnt even hurt, i did have a cough but it was a wet cough (snot) so it didnt cause any pain. odd.

wait until bird flu does the rounds, i fear that will be quite bad seeing as 80% of the uk have got this virus

I'm quoting this in case anyone missed it. Getting it wasn't a pleasant experience.

me and the mrs had it just before christmas, there's nothing that says "we'll be together forever" than simultaneous vomiting - 1 in the toilet 1 in the sink :D
