Is there a way to deter flies? Window of new flat attracts them

What about wasps? For a week now they come in every night, granted I'm probably the only person up at 4am playing games with the light on in the vicinity, they will come in without fail, every night. First they sent scouts, now they come in threes... it's a battlefield.

I can either keep the lights off or close the window, but that's where my AC ventilation goes, arghhh.
 
Citrus candles work quite well, my sister has them in her garden.

Other than that, you can get thin netting that lines the window, or fly paper.
 
cant u try and catch a few
tie strings to their legs and see how many it takes to get u in the air ?

also i'd like to see where they take you...so pack ur map and compass
