Is there a workaround for this?

I'm researching a chap called Gowan and have found a couple of books that mention him. This is on Google's book search. The search results show as snippet views and clicking only gives me a few lines and not all of the references.

Results 3, 4, 5

It's annoying as these three books are vital to my research, well out of copyright and not available to buy anywhere. I'm sure the full texts are in there somewhere but I can't figure out how to access them.

Any suggestions are most welcome!

Local library?

Mine is terrible. And small.

The British Library may hold copies.

Possibly, although I don't fancy dragging myself to London if there's an armchair solution. :)

What are the titles? It says I can get them as free ebooks?

Thank you for checking - that would be fantastic! The books are:

Frontier and Overseas Expeditions from India: North-West Frontier tribes between the Kabul and Gumal Rivers.
India. Army. Intelligence Branch
Mittal Publications, 1983 - India

REPORT ON THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE PUNJAB AND ITS DEPENDENCIES, FOR 1878-79

Tribes of the North-West Frontier by William Henry Paget, A. H. Mason. Gian Publications, 1980.

Try your local library - you might be able to get an inter-library loan or something. Find a librarian and ask them about it, they could be super helpful with stuff like this.

If I can't find a solution here that will be my next port of call. They took me two weeks to find a copy of War and Peace though, so I'm not getting my hopes up yet. :)

Do you have a University near you? Ours has a 24/7 library that is open to the public if you register at the front desk. I'm not sure if all are like that, but it's worth asking.
