Is there any advantage of using a Samsung 980 pro on gen3 laptop?

I am looking for a new driver. Thinking of going with Samsung 970 evo plus 2TB. My laptop is gen3.
I was looking at the 980 pro model, I know it would run at gen 3 speed and not 4, but I wondered if there would be any advantage with the newer drammless design and faster or large write buffer?
Or would I really not see any difference to justify the higher price?

Thanks for your reply, maybe it was the non pro I was looking at initially.
I didn't know the newer model of the 970 was updated either. If buying from amazon, how am I likely to know if they are selling the newer drive or older stock do you think? Or will old stock be well sold out now anyway do you think?
I guess I could look for what controller is using if it mentions it.
Sounds like the 970 would be best so long as I know it's the updated drive.
