Is there any reason my IP address would change unexpectedly?

I'm at the same address, using the same computer, with the same router and the same ISP, yet my IP address appears to have changed in the last 10 months. Why could this be?

You talking about your LAN IP or WAN IP?

Sometimes it's due to network changes. Or maybe your lease expired unexpectedly and someone got your old ip before you did (if it's dhcp).

I'm not sure.

I just googled "what's my ip address", clicked the first few links and they all showed my IP address as being different to what it was a few months ago.

Most ISPs using dynamic IP addresses. Nothing to worry about.
