No sending to bin...I've found some nonsense about pressing option, shift, command, delete, sacrifice a hundred wolves on a blood moon to steve jobs - but I just want to delete some files. I've spent the best part of the afternoon waiting for a 5gb file to empty out of the trahs can! This is rubbish!

Are you pressing the right keys? Cause CMD, Option, Backspace is what I use to delete immediately. I get an "Are you sure?" box popping up to confirm immediate deletion
I think i'm doing that? But it's been telling me that it's been deleting three files for about 15 minutes now.

Using the command line on macOS is well worth learning. You can do so much with it in a short amount of time.
I think i'll probably end up doing that while i'm refmailiarising myself with linux anyway - I've completely *** if you must swear, please fully star out the word, not just a part of it, thank you *** windows, and it's made me more active in learning than I have been in years.
