Access, i cant have LLU in my area, i cant even log into world of warcraft its that bad, i rang them in November about it, they said there working on it and they are aware and it will be fixed by Christmas, yes it was fixed at times between 11pm-4pm, on peek times when im actually on its useless.

thats what i mean apart from changing my area i live in what else is there i can do :( i think in the last year ive made 50+ phone calls to my ISP, amd on every phone call you get a different answer, i just wish i could get a professional opinion.

i rang up o2 just then just to see what they say, they said after 30minutes that theres congestion at the phone exchange, the engineers know about it, it should have been fixed at the start of the month, so ill just have to be patient.

if i had LLU would i still get this congestion ? and is there anyway what so ever to get around this congestion without moving homes!

Have some patience. If you want instant answers phone the people you're paying for support.

and where do i get them from

Your router. If you're using the O2-provided router, it'll be in its web interface, whatever the address is for that (it should be in the welcome letter, o2box.config or something - the IP should be 192.168.1.254).

Extremely unlikely. It's far more probably that it's congestion on O2's Centrals (i.e. the connections between O2's and BT Wholesale's networks) which O2 seem to show no appetite for upgrading.

Maybe:

Changing ISP would help, probably, but it's hard to be sure without more information.

Understood, ive only ever been with AOL and o2, both similar problems, now i just wouldn't know where to start now, ive just been on the 192.168.1.254, but theres hardly anything on there, just all basic information about the connection, the IP, time its been connected etc.

The virgin media engineer who was round to install my service told me he was on virgin national 20 mg line , it's adsl, through the phone line, you'd pay the line rental direct to virgin media and not to bt,presuming you have a bt phone line. He said he gets a constant 20 mg through. You could always threaten 0 2. Hope you get sorted!

is there anywhere i can ring to get some professional advice instead of ringing isp providers, since as though they talk a load of pants just to make a sale.

and yeh im on BT phone line, the exchange has not been upgraded yet to (i forgot the name 21CN ?), hense why i cant have LLU or any decent packages in my area, it had a date of 4th quarter of 2009 to be upgraded but it has not happend yet

LLU provision is independent of the 21CN upgrade that BT are doing. If you don't have any LLU providers it's likely that it's not economically viable for them to put their kit into the exchange at the moment.

When you say your router provides basic information about your connection what sort of things does it have? If you can tell us your sync speeds, line attenuation, SNR margin etc we can have a stab at telling you whether you could get a better connection with another ISP.

I really wish it did have that information, but by basic information i mean, things like this

Uptime: 0 days, 22:29:07
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 448 / 7,616
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [kB/kB]: 0.00 / 0.00

Software Release: 7.4.20.4

that basic, then it tells you what IP address you have etc, is there any other way i can get that information ?

cheers

There :) thank you

But like i say i went onto this 21CN exchange update and it should have been updated last year, obviously not. (i dont know what it is but im guessing its a good thing for internet :p)
i just wish i could have a STABLE connection, 8meg or 2meg i just want a stable one, i can be there playing a game, all of a sudden 150ms, next minute your on 1000ms, thats whats most annoying having the inability to play games online.
