I said "in princple, though not in practice". I believe they would agree with many (if not most) terrorist aims, such as:

  • The abolition (or destruction) of the state of Israel

  • The removal of all foreign troops from Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan

  • The establishment of a new Islamic Caliphate, initially based in Iran or Iraq, but quickly extended to the secular ME states (Jordan, Syria, Egypt, etc.)

  • The return to Sharia Law in Afghanistan and every ME state

Plenty of Muslims (I suggest "many", if not "most") would agree with these aims on religious and political grounds, though they would not necessarily agree with the terrorists' way of trying to achieve them (except perhaps in the case of Israel, which I am sure they would love to see burned to the ground).

Examples could be multiplied.

To be honest terrorists are just using "islam" and "muslims" name to commit whatever, It's a ******* shame really, Really need to trademark them and that.

But i do agree though, It was a bit out of hand with the complaints with this poster, If they felt that strong, Hell why not just "suggest" putting up another picture.

Well it seems that the complaints only came from one guy who was claiming to speak for the Muslim community, so we can safely give him a slap and send him on his way without fear of offending anyone. :D

I guess the reason why theres a lot of complaints from the muslim side is mainly becuase, As far as i've found, we like to criticse a lot, It's funny, When one goes to another country and starts being one sided (towards where they are living, The food, Views, Etc..) and vice versa. I think thats whats going in here.

Most of them i don't nor my family agrees, Except for one, Thats removing troops out of iraq, The killing thier is senseless, Then again, I also understand if they did move out it would no accomplish anything, there would be more hatred.

I do apologise for the swearing, Just it does my nut in when it is stupid terrorists doing stuff in the name of (insert here), I swear they need to get rid of these preachers that mess with the young.

We don't regard them muslims, Thats the thing, It does make us mad that these guys are doing these things in the name of "islam" or as they put its being a true "muslim" when in fact, It's just living in a peacfull way.

It is about tolerence, Yet terrorists do these things and claim them being good "muslims".

It isn't pandering to anyone per se, there is a difference between showing a bit of care to other peoples views (even if you don't agree with or understand them) and offending them because you either took no care or deliberately set out to cause offence. Rex doesn't need to be on the poster since it has nothing to do with a dog unit. However not terribly important if it was just Councillor Asif causing a storm in a teacup rather than there being a lot of complaints from the Muslim community here.

I'm not convinced about the UK being a Christian country, I'd call it secular but with many people calling themselves Christian through force of habit or lack of interest in searching out a description that fits them better. Again though not particularly important.
 
im trying to figure out what a dog has to do with the police, phones or non-emergencies

edit- just read that that hes some sort of mascot :/

i am by no means a racist, but i feel some of this kind of stuff is ridiculous.

if people want to come and live here or anywhere else, i think they should be prepared to accept the culture / laws / beliefs / government, and not expect everything to be changed for them.

in this particular case stubbornness is having an effect on other people too.
 
This country has gone mad! I can't believe that in this day in age, the Police force has to actually have someone designated as the "Diversity Adviser" to assist on such matters, so as not to offend people with something as innocent as a flyer promoting awareness. Seriously, the Government needs to get a grip on reality here, otherwise we are going to have many more major issues in the future. It's actually quite pathetic.
