Is there anything wrong with this build ?

whats it being used for? do you need 8GB of ram?

psu is poor for that expensive build, buy this one.

ok i've swapped out the PSU i chose the original one because i was going to whack in my 250gtx, if i could that is.
I'll be using the rig for gaming and 3d design/rendering and using my old rig as part of the render farm.
and the ecogreen harddrive is slow if you want to use it for windows and installing games/programs onto.
any suggestions for a 1TB/2TB drive ?

the one you suggested has the ability to run two ATI cards as a pair, it wont supppoort Nvidia SLI, so apart from the little soundcard thing that comes with it, its got features you cant use

i have redone the core components for you, just add your keyboard, mouse, speakers, extras.

both mobos say crossfire enabled though ? why doesn't it mention SLi ?

AMD chipsets will never support SLI, and visversa, the 890FX chipset in the board you picked will other 16X/16X pci lanes for each slot.

the 890GX does 8X/8X.

the rest of the chipsets only provide 4X to the second slot

ok you've saved me a bit of money there :)
few things i just want to check on if you don't mind.
Corsair CPU cooler vs Coolit Vantage
Asus M4A88TD - definately Nvidia SLi
thanks :)

the corsair cooler will be perfect, should get that 1090T cpu to around 4ghz, many people already have.

and NO amd chipset board will ever support SLI, the companys hate each other that much!!

The only way to get SLI support is by Intel motherboard chipset/ and obviously cpu

See you say AMD will never support but the Asus EVO is an AMD chipset ... ?
- CPU: AMD Phenom II/Athlon II/Sempron 100 Series Processors (Socket AM3)
- Chipset: AMD 880G / SB850

sorry if i seem confused, spending this amount will do such things lol.

Thats right, it will never support SLI, so if you ever wanted a second nvidia card for a dual(sli) setup, then you cant, it wont even do crossfire properly(the second slot only runs at 4X speed)

the motherboard you suggested does crossfire at 16X and 16X again for the second slot, for a feature you cant use because you have selected a nvidia card

right ok i get it now, so the one i chose would be good for crossfire.
so whats the ideal choice for Nvidia cards then ?

intel i7 cpu and motherboard

which requires a change in memory to a tri channel setup, http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-205-CS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1389
