Is there much point in upgrading my AGP?

Thanks for the very helpful replies everyone. I'm going to wait until my PC is fixed before upgrading but I'll take a good look at all my options before I do. :)

I've got an A64 3000+ Venice that was on an AGP board with a 6600GT and a gig of Geil Value RAM, and this weekend I swapped out the board and card for an x1950pro and a DFI RDX200CF-DR. I left the CPU and RAM. You can get an x1950pro for £140odd inc vat and the mobo was only about £35 at the moment - it's well worth doing imo.

The difference is pretty massive for me in Oblivion :)

That card, still with a gig of half-decent ram and the same (well at least similar) CPU to yours has left me really pleased with it, I'd go that option if you can stretch it...

Hehe, i'm in the same boat here, was really considering selling my X800XT for whatever i could and buying the x1950pro for a quick performance boost, as cant really afford to upgrade everything at the min.

Does anyone have any ideas what the gain would be from the 2 cards? ie, worth the upgrade?

Saying that, reading this and ppl saying get the pci-e X1950 pro ver has me thinking? i'm just a little unsure, dont you have to change to DDR2 ram on pci-e boards or will the ram i have now be fine? also unsure about my psu and weather it has all the nessaccery power cables for a pci-e setup?

Cheers CaNNoN.
