Is there something else other than our consciousness

We have 3-4 times as many neurons as Chimps, and like 100 times more than a cat.

Not sure number of neurons is a great measure of intelligence given that one of your examples gets to live a lazy life sleeping 20 hours a day, regular meals with zero effort, and frequent full body massages, while we work ourselves to an early grave just trying to make ends meet :D

For anyone interested -
When i was young I did a disturbing amount of LSD and honestly i can truly relate to the experiences and textural geometry, resonance states etc..... but wow that is some mad thing to research.

I can appreciate it tunes you in with wavelengths and atomic structures etc.. lol

Nope this is too stupid to talk about, it was cool but youre not going to find god you might phase your mind out to another phase of reality if you take enough :P

oh but what is god, maybe its just a crystalline rhododendron alien ......... Put the chemicals down....

Can confirm, wish I was a cat.

I'm starting to believe that our consciousness, 'us', is just a virus that takes over these overgrown ape bodies.

We'll flit about when the host dies and hop into another host.

The real brain is in the gut, there's as many neurons there as in a cats head and I reckon mine communicates. With my cat. They're up to something I tell you.

True!

There's something like 2x 10 to the power of 23 suns in the known universe. That's not counting all the dark matter and energy, and christ knows what other weird unobservable stuff is out there.

There is other intelligent life. The chances are there is, or has been more intelligent life than us.

Sadly, what with the universe being quite big, we'll probably never know.

Solipsism at it's finest. I wondered how long you bots would take to get me thinking about this, I should have expected it sooner or later.

There are many different theories about what else might exist beyond our consciousness. Some people believe in the existence of a soul or spirit, while others believe that there is a higher power or intelligence that exists beyond the physical world. There is no scientific evidence to support or refute these theories, but they are nonetheless popular among many people.

Another theory is that our consciousness is not limited to our own bodies. Some people believe that we can connect with the consciousness of others, or even with the consciousness of the universe itself. This theory is known as telepathy or remote viewing. Again, there is no scientific evidence to support this theory, but it is nonetheless something that many people believe in.

Ultimately, whether or not there is something else beyond our consciousness is a question that each individual must answer for themselves. There is no right or wrong answer, and there is no way to know for sure. However, the exploration of this question can be a journey of self-discovery and personal growth.

I've never had these, to me, weird ponderings. "Have I got enough money to see the forseeable future through? Have I got enough beer for ditto? Is there anything seriously enough wrong with me to make the former concerns irrelevant and to just let rip?". That's about it....

Joe rogan speaks a lot about it

I think me speaking we would have to be nieve to think it's just us humans

DMT hope I'm not crossing the line but makes you wonder

DMT has got to be the most craziest thing I've heard of, even within controlled environments its almost unexplainable.
