Is this a bad deal on Orange?

Have you still got a 14 day return on that? I think the guys were blagging you into thinking you would normally pay for that phone as on most networks you can have it free.

Hmm yeah still a 14-day return.

On vodafone £35 a month gets you 500mins and 1000 texts and the n73 is free.

Hmm on a 12-month contract? Couldn't find that on their site...

Apparently not on retail upgrade handsets/contracts though.
The ONLY time you waiver your own right to 14 Day money back is

a. You transfer your number for PAYG to contract (NT3)
b. You accept free broadband at point of connection

(As already proven, not matter if you waiver these rights or not, if equipment is deemed faulty in first 28 days it still can be cancelled)

Anything else is tosh. As im the manager of my own orange shop so i have a little know on this.
The service you recieved is shocking and i am frankly a little concerned.

First you were not offered the right promo, (150 mins 450 texts on Dolphin £25)
Then it sounds like you were lied to stop you from returning a handset!

If its a store in my area ill be having words!

It's the Crawley store in the county mall there mate, and i'm already planning to excelate a complaint to Orange about this. Howver, if it's near you feel free. :D

At the moment it seems Orange is doing a deal where you give them any old handset, and they give you a certain amount of credit on your bill, when opening a new contract with them.

I opened a £30/month contract with 300mins, 450 texts and a free w850i, but when I give them an old handset they will give me £150 credit, so I basically get 5 months for free, bringing my average monthly bill to around £22. I was quite pleased with that, since with the magic number, the contract gives me everything I want for less than I thought I'd have to pay.

All i wanted was a M3100 phone, my select 500 plan, 500mins any network / 30 txt a month for the £25 a month im on now.

No way on earth as im a 8 year costumer so i was told, by a shop owner, to drop my contract, go PAYG for 1 month and come abck and i can have it for free.... how daft is that!

Anyways - well done on your success, not a bad contract at all, hope the phone you got is good.

Wish i could get the M3100 and the racoon 35 on a 12 month contract, but once again the dreaded 18month pops up lol... and the M3100 is still £49.99!

Grrr @ Orange!

You missed one... If you upgrade an existing connection via Orange retail (or indeed via any store rather than over the phone or the internet), there is no cooling off period, it only applies to new connections or where the customer is covered by the distance selling act (and then it's 7, not 14 days).
