My GF has finally decided what she wants from her parents for her birthday. We are ging to London for a couple of days to see an exhibition, which sounds great. Thing is, the exhibition is the Body Worlds Exhibition by Dr Gunther von Hagens, the guy who does the autopsy Live TV shows.

Is it not a very strnage choice for a 21st birthday present?

She is studing to be an Occupational Therapist and loves understanding anatomy, especially muscles, and she loves the disection rooms and specimens at Uni though.

I wish my girlfriend would do things like this. I stick a gore fest movie on during the night and she is on the verge of projectile vomiting :(

Thats ... fairly odd !

I don't know many girls / women who are interested in those kinda of things ! GG on finding her !

Why is it so strange, it must be like a gift from heaven.

I would love that for my birthday! I am doing an Animal Bio course and already had to cut up lungs, heart, etc so I think I'm de-sensitised!

it's nice shes got a plan for life but dead bodies, good luck :)

i'd take her for a west end musical on sat night if you want some sanity ;)

Not strange at all.

Interesting and proves she has intelligence which seems to be unusual for todays women obsessed with celebrity culture and shagging everything in sight.

Well in light of that frankly yes, it's bizarre that she'd want to go to an exhibition all about anatomy, muscles, dissection and specimens.

Maybe your girlfriend is a more interesting person than you.

Ive known this since day 1.

Yes, the exhibit is a bit strange, but Ive watched most of the Autopsey Live programs and enjoyed them, so think it will be very interesting. Its just a bit strange as a birthday present?

She hates horror movies or anythign scary.... lol.

I don't see what better way there is to understand how the human body works than to see one of his shows. It's nice to see or have something memorable for a 21st so why not this?

I still have his show that was on channel 4 a few years ago knocking about, I might watch it again sometime.

edit:

I tell you what though the disected testicle made me cringe.

Make sense though is she is studing for Occupational Therapist and needs to know about the anatomy etc.

Be very interesting aswell!

Sounds like the sort of thing my gf would enjoy :p She made me play that scene in irriversable where the guy gets his head smashed in with a fire extinguisher 3/4 times because she was intrueged.

And this is a girl who's queen of fashion and all things pretty :-/
