Is this a Core2 Duo processor?

You're scaring me. I had assumed any old PC2-6400 would work.

What should I be looking for?

I have found Gigabyte boards to be very good when it comes to ram. So far i have'nt had a problem. My Asus P5E on the other hand was a pig when i first got it as it would'nt work with two brands of memory that i already had. Other's though, did'nt suffer from the same problem as me so it varies from board to board. The best thing to do is to check the QVL list for each board although some manufacturers don't update them very often.

asus sometimes struggle with ocz modules - get the processor - its a corker - i have one in my htpc

great clocker - low power consumption
alright for games too!

Don't let yourself be put off by the Pentium branding Fozzymooo, it's a Wolfdale with less cache, they just named it Pentium ;) They are great chips for the money, and they clock well :D

LOL they can call it a bananna if they like it is thier product, btw its nothing like the old Pentium 4,2 or 1 (maybe a little like the P3).

What about the Celeron Dual Core you you like that renamed Core 2 Duo as well?

Trade descriptions. Some of us have day jobs where we have to deal with this. Did you not see the idiotic thread two months ago here where someone was insisting on returning a used pentium dual core because OCUK had called it a core 2 on their product listing?

Celerons have always been architecturally similar, but with crippled cache.

Maybe I'm the one who's twisted, but wouldn't this processor work with any 775 socket board? Sorry if that's the most retarded question anyone has ever asked in advance.

No 775 socket CPU support can be very sketchy due to the long life of the socket and many different supporting chipsets and VRM specifications. Its always best to go by the boards compatability list where possible.
