Just replaced an iphone 4s screen and just see a dim display when switch on, no apple logo either.
Is it a faulty screen do you think?

Thanks in advance.

It is a faulty IC chip connected to the lcd cable on the digitiser.

It's the rectangular hard thing on the cable. Either it came damaged or you damaged it by bending in the wrong place when fitting.

Hi thanks for that, so, is that the wee sliver thing?

Nothings impossible but almost sure I didn't damage it.
I've replaced 20 or so screens and always careful.
Thanks V much for the info.

Probably needs to be returned and nothing to do with you then.

Far too many faulty screens, it's part of my business repairing them profit isn't amazing at £45 inclusive of part and labour. Having to send faulty screens back signed for each time at £3.70 is making me really think twice about repairing them.

I've tried loads of suppliers.

Unfortunately not, i'd never pay that much.

No offense intended, but that may have something to do with how many faulty screens you are receiving.

Clearly these are all Chinese copies but the cheaper you go the worse quality control and packaging gets.

Get what you pay for yadda yadda.

Not an enormous amount to be honest.
