Is this a good cooler??

Sorry mate thought you wanted a kit. If your just looking for a CPU Block then one of the best is the Swiftech Storm G4, there is a G5 but good luck finding one. The dangerden ones are supposed to be quite good also. But someone with more knowledge than me could tell you some more.

are you after a block for the CPU or a kit for cooling the CPU, if its a kit then the apex like said above. If just a block then the storm is excellent, but supposedly rare, and very restrictive but thats no bother on a good pump, another block is he DD TDX more widely available, also the swiftech apogee is good bout on par with the TDX. there are others but some have 3 barbs instead of just two which can complicate and congest cases with over tubingd and splitters, to be honest waterchill stuff is pretty rubbinsh hose is to narrown and looks cheap and nasty

tbh i have no idea about water cooling, ive always stuck to air..but recently i got the ASUS Deluxe Crossfier board and my cpu temps went sky high, although this could be a dodgy sensor but a 15c jump in board when i switched boards is worryin. at present the cpu sits at 43 idle and anout 48 load, shes an AMD 4600+ clocked to 2.7 on 1.375v and rock solid. so if a kit is better then ill go with that but like i say, its only the cpu i want water chilled!!

Hi mate,

Yes if you want to cool your CPU you will need everthing in those Swiftech Kits. You can't just buy the CPU Block you need a pump, tubing, and a rad at the minimum, the kits are a plus as you get a reservoir included with it. So the Apex is the best kit out there at the moment, if you can't afford that go with the Premium. Or do as I am doing and do a custom setup where you source and choose all the parts yourself.

This is a great way of doing things as you do get to learn a lot about how watercooling works etc.

Hope this helps, if you do decide to go custom send me an email can point you to some good forums and places to buy stuff.

i recommend the swiftech apex kit cos it has all you need, and saves time on getting a custom kit if you only have a small knowledge of WC kits, and to be honest the apex kiy can compete against any custom kit. and it will chill your CPU nicely with the oppurtunity to add extra blocks later
