Is this a good deal?

Thanks :)

You have an XC90 as well?

Nope, my parents have had all sorts of Volvo's since before i can remember none of which they've ever had a major problem with - my dad currently has a V70 on 100k miles and is 15 years old and it is perfect. Its worth FA, but it is a really good car. Comfortable, nice sounding, huge boot and costs nothing to run. The oil in the engine comes out after 10k miles looking almost as new as it went in.

Volvo's really are well engineered, solid cars - however their economy is often quite poor! Hopefully that won't be an issue for you with a diesel though.

Funny that I juts drove a one at Volvo when my S80 was being MOTeed, I did like the drive and too its credit drove almost exactly like my S80 which was a surprise as I was expecting a big wobbly ride, unless that means my S80 is a big wobbly ride in the first place.

I was looking at a 56 reg D5 78000 miles tan leather heated seats sat nav phone prep tow bar tinted rear windows for £16000 which seemed a lot

However whilst I was test driving the XC they passed my S80 and then gave me a estimated bill of £2500 for the repairs needed to my S80, took it to a specialist independent and he went loopy as out of that about £600 actually needs doing, not very happy, I wouldn't trust Volvo now to work on my car, if I really had to I'd get them to do the basic service if the stamp in the book is important to you but don't authorise anything else.

Find a decent specialist

mmm... you shouldn't be posting threads like these you know... tempting... might just called up a dealer and put a test drive in place... we were initially looking at the Q7's - bit confused now - the XC90's are super good value for money at the moment.
