This just flew into the house. It sounded like an arcing 11kV transformer at first. Took 4 solid whacks with the wife’s left croc to kill it good. Is it a queen wasp? My dad doesn’t kill them for a living so I don’t know. Chupa Chups for scale.

Looks like a male wasp (not worker). I’ve seen Queen wasps and they are a lot bigger. Although on second look it has the stinger which not usually on the male wasp. Still seems small for a Queen.

Queen wasps are a lot larger
Between 3 and 4 feet long

This is a lesser known princess wasp they are uniquely attracted to chupachup lollies

Be warned the queen wasp from the hive will seek vengeance for the death of the princess wasp it may be advisable to move home
