is this a sackable offence?

"Hitler is gay" is such a lazy insult. There's an entire dictionary of fantastic words that could be used to describe the man. Instead, someone chose to label him a homosexual, as if being a homosexual is something as villainous as attempting to wipe out an entire people.

Why was it drawn, what was it drawn on, was it done at work and why would it get into the hands of HR?

If there's a story behind this that involves some sort of formal complaint being made about discrimination...

HR generally aren't going to be proactive over something like that... I'm sure if a senior manager or a gay person complained about it then it could become a sackable offence otherwise I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it.

To actually answer the question asked, depending on your job, this could be seen as gross misconduct and therefore a sackable offence.

Aren't there a lot of questions over Hitler's sexuality, including Eva Braun not being his true lover. He may in fact have been gay...:p

Just argue it's a historic image ...

Are you 12? That would be the only possible explanation for why you would do this and if you are 12 you must only have a paper round or something so no I wouldn't worry.

Agreed. Even if it wasn't offensive in context, I'm sure HR would love to ask why someone who considers drawing picture of Hitler funny is on their payroll.
