Is this a sensible idea?

At the moment I shoot with 3 cameras:

An R6mk2, an R50V, and an M6mk2.
No matter what, the M6 is staying. The blend of functionality, smallness, and an EVF make it a perfect travel camera for me until Canon release something similar in the R lineup.
The R50V I bought as a B-cam for video but I actually find myself using the M6mk2 instead for this job and the R50V just sits in my bag most of the time.

I'm considering flogging the R6mk2 and the R50V, adding some cash and picking up an R5mk2. The main reason for this is the extra resolution so that I can crop more but I'm concerned that I'm going to be disappointed with the low-light performance compared to the R6mk2.

Had anyone made this jump? It's a ton of cash to pump in to a single body for a non-pro shooter.

Ken Rockwell takes a photo at every ISO with both cameras, also the same scene so you can make a basic comparison i guess if you have each review in different tabs and toggle quickly between them or find a way to get them side by side

Issue with canon is their prices since they started with mirrorless, its ridiculous

Would a change in the system be out of the question?

My Sony A7R2 at 42MP gives me some mental crops at times. Carrying only a 35mm last year wasn't that restrictive in the slightest. I shot inside caves and captured quite a few low-light shots by hand with decent success. Only when I rushed was it a mess. Newer models to mine will only improve in low light and IBIS, particularly with stabilised lenses, too.

Definitely go grey market for this.

You can pick up the R5ii now for around £2200 and you’ll likely get around £1400 for the R6ii and the R50V.

So you’re paying out around £800 which doesn’t seem bad at all.

Yeah, that's the plan if I do it.

MPB offer £1400 for both bodies + the R50V kit lens. I can probably get more on Ebay but I dunno if I can be bothered with the hassle.

MPB are effortless to deal with, make sure to get a quote through Wex too as they’re usually a few £ higher and they give you a bonus if you choose the store credit option.

Wex offered £1579 for those bodies and the lens. The R5mkII is £2489 from Cotswold Cameras. Delta cost of £910. Not bad.
Looking at the Bay of Es, I can get £1200 for the R6mk2, £500 for the R50V, and £150 for the lens = £1850 giving a delta cost of £639.

So, I'd be paying £271 to not have to deal with Ebay.

I’d be happy paying the extra to avoid eBay.
