is this a spam call

I don't know if it's the same, but I had a call from a withheld number last week, offering something for something like £45.80 or £46.80. He had a heavy accent and I could hardly understand a word of what he was saying. I just said that I wasn't interested then hung up. The concerning thing is that he knew my first and last name.

Fakes I've had recently are:

- HMRC threatening to send the heavies round
- Amazon prime telling me my renewal is coming up
- "Your internet service provider" saying I will be cut off in 4 hours and to speak to technical support immediately for a new router

I've had all of those multiple times and I just start crying on the phone saying I'm 91 years old and I haven't got any money.
They ALWAYS put the phone down.
It has a couple of times had the wife running down stairs thinking there's something wrong with me.

I've had the HMRC one a few times.

I've also had those voice activated ones. I try to keep answering so it repeats itself, hoping it will cost them a few pence more in call time. I don't know if it does though.

I've toyed with the accident chasers a few times where I keep asking about the accident they say I was in, until they eventually put the phone down. I enjoy those.

My dying mum kept getting calls from her Indian internet provider telling her she would be cut off if she didn't pay her bill over the phone immediately. *******! They didn't even offer her any free ringdings.

Those are dead easy to pee off, when I say I have had an accident and they put me through to a Manager I say that I lost both of my legs and the phone goes straight down.

I tell them that unfortunately I died in the accident, and proceed to describe to them in great detail all the blood and body parts everywhere :D

I had the HMRC one last week, on the landline, I missed the first nanosecond of the recorded spiel, so all I got was “HMRC have issued an arrest warrant for you on tax evasion charges, to speak to the officer in charge of your case, press 1.”
I hung up, but as I drove a Black Cab for 30 years, and was occasionally a tad remiss with my declaration of cash income, my blood ran slightly tepid, if not cold.
Later that day, my wife received the same thing on her mobile, and she was never self-employed, so I relaxed.

Had another one today on the land line -080 ? so lifted receiver but said nothing -soon clicked off -Then I pressed the spam button on phone.

Also had a text message saying my paypal account has been frozen or something - deleted that as well.
I have had my mobile number for the last 21yrs and never had spam on PAYG - - Not long gone onto BT Sim and spam is now arriving on a regular basis.
Going to have to turn my phone off till I need it.

Ive just had a one on my landline, numbers 0121 5264585, recorded message, womans voice, fraud on account (no mention of what bank, whos account etc...), £600 transaction overseas, if correct press 1, if not, press 2 to speak to fraud investigation team, just hung up, blocked the number.

Checked the number on who called me, rated as dangerous, loads of people posting about it, fraud on debit card, visa, the lot, and surprise, surprise, few people posted about the exact same £600 from overseas taken :D

Im still getting those ones about my net being cut off in about 4hrs too.

Come on :p

I've just had this call from the Inland Revenue, if you don't press 1 somebody will be sent to arrest you.
I got through to an Asian and started to make noises & dirty talk as though I was making out - phone went straight down :)
