my neighbours have left me parcels.

Theyve gone on holiday, I dont know them really well, the guy has drums and plays them with his garage door open so everyones forced to listen to them whilst no one else makes any noise......

He came round and asked if id recieve his drumkit for him, sounded ok so i said yeh.

Only ive also recieved 5 other parcels, for his wife, all of them addressed to me.....they didnt tell me about this.

So my whole hallway is clogged with their mail and they arent due back for 2 weeks. Considering thats 5 parcels in one day, day one, how much more am i expecting ?

So i dunno what to do now i feel like they are using me as a personal storage facility tbh!

Are they out of order or not ?

The really dodgy bit is one of them is for their address but not their name..... who the hell is "G MILLS" :S

Being a good neighbour brings its own rewards.
Yes I'd be a bit miffed at the volume of mail if it had not been explained properly. However surely you have some room for it somewhere? Loft? Garage?

I can't believe they've addressed stuff for you - that's really out of order.

The thing is, you have to take the goods. If you don't, or leave them outside, you'll be responsible for any damage. If I were you I'd take the goods but say when your neighbours return that you don't appreciate being used as their personal parcel depot.

So it has your name on it?
Then it's yours!

Say you had no clue as to why you got them and thought you'd destroy it because you didn't like them.

Yup but why should I

They said they are going out for the day.......i saw them this morning packing suitcases into their car and they have taped a letter to their door saying they are away for 2 weeks.

Oh and i accidentally dropped his drum kit on my hard stone garage floor. Im really worried now as i heard some nasty sounds coming from inside the package.

Seriously ive bent my fingers all the way back trying to lift it up cos it was too wide to grip.

I guess they could have informed you that they would be sending them to you. Best to keep them happy than turn it into a neighbours war i guess.

Sounds like they have taken advantage, bit weird aswell but at least you're doing a good deed.

You say they packed up and left..make sure some of the parcels aren't ticking..

its their fault they lied to you, not their fault if you've been spazzing

No-one is saying that you *should*.
Is there some reason why you should not?

Do they want to be burgled?

This is the drum kit you mean right..... not some bragging thing?

At my parents house I order things to the house even if no one is in as the next door neighbors (they live in a little cul-de-sac so they are about 4) all accept the parcels and we accept theirs if we are in.

Its how it should be, we also take the older people to the hospital if they need it or drop them off on a night if we are going out, this is me, my sister and my mam.

Now I live on my own, I order everything to work so I know I can accept it.

But to the OP I think what they did was a bit cheeky but you've just "dropped" their drum kit, keep quiet and let karma deal with it.

KaHn

If you didn't want to take them, you should have refused the delivery.
I'd accept the inconvenience with good grace and use it as a way to build a better neighbourly relationship in the future.
I would let them know that you were a little miffed about the unexpected volume of parcels on their return though.

Best thing to do is not to mention how dropped his drumkit whilst you were having a moment, and simply explain to him that you thought it was unfair but accepted them anyway.

Don't try and milk the situation, just be calm and polite to explain your position

You have two choices really...

Deal with it and have them owe you a favour or...

Give him the drum kit and say 'there were other packages?' ;)
