Is this cheating?

I have just bought BFBC2 and after playing cod a couple of things are bugging me; the toggle crouch and toggle sprint. Would using autohotkey to toggle sprint and crouch 1) be considered cheating and 2) would I be kicked/banned from servers for it?

Can't imagine you'd get kicked. Unless you told anyone how would they know?

Must say I'd prefer toggle crouch too. Sprinting is fine IMO.
 
nah don't think any person would consider it cheating, but pb might pic it up as some sort of unauthorized macro or something and kick (but probably not ban)
 
Unless the server is specifically set up to pick up said scripts via PB you'd be fine. Scripts and such became an easy way of catching cheaters in older FPS games with PB, such as SOF2.
 
Wouldn't call it a cheat myself, it's not allowing you do do anything that can't otherwise be done (by manually holding down the keys).
 
Well yesterday I got banned from two servers becuase the admins couldn't accept that I was better than them >.<

So you may get banned from some :P

I assumed there was more to it.

The logitech G15 can copy key presses and bind it to a G key. I've never found much use for it, infact I bought a WolfKing after to get which effectively gives 1 extra key available while retaining full movement.

In the light of what the G15 can do I don't consider it a cheat, and TBH not something I would have thought was worth doing anyhow.

I thought punkbuster used to pick autohotkey up as a cheat but not sure now

I think crouch and run toggle should be an option in the game tho so don't really see it as cheating. I would guess you could macro using a keyboard which supports macros anyway.

This hasn't happened to me yet in BC2. Used to happen to me all the time in CS and CS:S. Luckily I think that the user base is a bit more mature in this game in general...
 
I wouldn't have throught so

its only something like auto reload or something that will be classed as cheating

all your doing is just pushing a button that toggles sprint/crouch on and off
