Hey all,

Can someone who has installed a motherboard with a pre-installed IO shield please give me some advice?

I've been trying to fit my Asus Hero X board into my H440 case. However, much to my frustration, i cant tell how the IO shield is supposed to fit with the case. Is it just pressed-up against the back of the cases IO panel (as per pics below) in the corners or are the silver tabs around the IO panel on the board supposed to clip in through the case IO panel, like the conventional way? Do I take the panel off and fit it in the case first? :S

Please help! lol

Thanks!

Anyone know if built-in I/O panels need to snap into the hole in the case or are they just pressed-up against the back as per my pictures above?

Im in the middle of a build and this is holding me up, so any advice will be really appreciated right now! :)

If the standoffs are showing through the screwholes on the board then its in the right place, but my gut instinct is that it should clip in like any normal I/O panel.

Thanks for the reply. It's given me a bit more confidence that it is correct.

I've got it all nicely aligned and screwed down but with those metal tabs just pressing up against the inside of the case.

It seems weird that it wouldn't be a press/clip fit with those tabs there but i just don't see a way they could go in without putting a terrifying amount of pressure on the board. Also seems weird to be able to see the silver edge of the I/O plate in the case though.. Argh, this isn't good for my OCD. lol
