After seeing a few threads about corrosion I thought I would take my block apart as I had everything in pieces and discovered something.

I can see what looks like copper in places and its dark patches in places I used a fine toothbrush to remove some of the gunk that was leftover from some dye and left this.

I had also noticed the plexi had small cracks similar to this thread (http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18442974) but mine are nowhere near that bad.

Is this an RMA job or am I just going to be out of pocket?

How old is the block? I have the same block, its two years old now, and personally, if I took it apart and it looked like that after a bit of cleaning, I would put it back together and not worry about it. Why go through the hassle of rmaing something which would have zero affect on the performance of the block?

I used mayhems biocide as well forgot to mention that part.

I doubt I have any polish so might have to go out and get some...

The block is just under a year old when I changed to the jet plate 6 it was fine must have been about 6-7 months ago tops.

"EKWB assumes no liability for defects which occur due to use of their products for purposes for which they are not intended, or for defects which occur owing to incorrect installation, corrosion, ultraviolet degradation, lack of maintenance, or any alteration or repair of the product carried out incorrectly by the Buyer. Finally, EKWB assumes no liability for normal wear and tear, or for depreciation of value. "

After reading that looks like I will have no case and just put up with it or just buy a new block, safe to say not using EK Nickel blocks again.

It wouldn't hurt to get in touch with EK tbh, the CS they offer is usually very good, iirc cleeecooo thought he had corrosion on his 570 blocks, sent them back to EK, they inspected them, said that is was just stained and even polished the blocks for him and returned them at no charge...
