yep soon as I saw it my first impression was OH NOO, so got my digital scope out to get the photos. going to phone Ebay soon as I finish typing here to get the exact procedure for returns and refunds, etc to make sure its done 100% by the book.

Hi i have sent you the refund

so not bad considering there was no case open for it I used the Ebay email system to get it all logged and twice phoned up ebay to get exact info to make sure all 100% by the book :-)

also sent it off yesterday recorded off course :-)
 
Hmm how the hell can anyone kill an intel cpu? Unless the seller forced it in the wrong way around or something... seems odd. Ebay just seems like a dumping ground for trash sometimes :rolleyes:

Probably wont be worth it but couldnt you try and swap out the burnt resistor if you cant get anywhere with refunds?

Im blind lol. Good news on the refund :D

I wont touch ebay for cpu's, I got stung on an old amd chip. The picture on the auction was of a proper cpu but the one sent was very different and was damaged aswell. Had a little difficulty but sorted it in the end.

that cpu is toast, and most definatly void of warranty.

intel would instantly reject it and so would any other retailler

good to see you got a refund

Nearly all my packages have previuosly came from OC, made CPU purchase from the MM a E8500, Such a great CPU my mate saw it , then purchased from me for the same price :-) then another CPU as per this Post.
My lucky charm is working great for me at the moment :-)
