Is this enforceable?

The blue signs are on quite a few surrounding roads, so it's not just a local, but the yellow looks official, and as there's a single yellow line down that side of the road, I believe it, but as far as I'm concerned, the other side should be fair game tbh.

The blue signs are official as well.

Car usage and parking

The Local Authority has banned parking on all roads immediately adjacent to the University campus unless you are a resident in one of those houses. You may be liable to disciplinary action if you ignore these restrictions.

Parking and Cycling

The University operates a compulsory registration scheme for student cars. Student vehicle registration data is used by the University for the investigation of student discipline offences, and specifically to ensure that students do not park contrary to University regulations in the residential areas signed 'No University Parking', which surround the campus.

Well, according to their fees, I wouldn't be able to get a permit anyway, as I'm in LE11, and even if they did, I have no intention of spending over £200 to be able to park there!

Well then I suggest you don't park on the street there and either cycle or walk to uni if you want to avoid fines or bothering local residents.

In my last year I paid for parking on campus as it was really convenient and I took my housemates in as well.

"Official" as far as the Uni goes.

You've basically just confirmed that they are a contractual restriction rather than a legal one.

Basically, you can't get a parking ticket for it, but if the Uni find out they can "discipline" you, whatever that means. :p

How about instead of paying for a uni permit, you look around for any local residents who don't have a car, but want to rent their drive out?

yeah I'd be careful about what the uni can do. I've heard/known people to have problems trying to get their degree at the end of their course due to a silly unpaid library or parking fine.

be a shame to waste god knows how many thousands in university fees only to complete your course and then not get a degree because of a silly issue over parking :p

pretty sure the people I've known/heard about got them in the end but after paying their fines.
