These aren't my numbers, these are what the energy supplier plucks out of the ether for their estimated direct debits. We'll come in below what they estimate. My point is the OP is already paying considerably more for just electricity than we pay for electricity and gas.

Were on payment meter for gas but used to be on payment meter for electricity. allot of company's don't charge more using pay as you go that's something they used to do back in the day.
Still seems steep but they should not be sending you a bill to pay. You sure its not just a statement.

Yeah, it's just a statement. It was just that my Mum had never realised how much it all equates to.
He says it's 12.5p per KWh which is on the cheap side regardless.
Im in a 2 bed terrace and i think i spend around 15 a week maybe a little less. Seams about right that. You have twice as many people in your house

Gas and eclectic company's are con men. They tell you they can do it for X amount. Then they take X amount out your bank for so long. Then read your meter and slap you with a bill. Ends up being no better than the last company

Its not the price per unit in those things, its the standing charge per day that is higher.
