Is this immoral?

So how come there's never any improvement in places such as Africa? With all the money that's been donated you'd think it'd be a little better. But it's not.

Have you been to Africa? Charities do an immense amount of work in often dangerous and appalling conditions. There are plenty of examples of peoples lives being improved in Africa, and across the Globe because of the many Charities and NGOs that give their time and effort to making it so.

Just because you are ignorant of something, doesn't mean it isn't happening.

its his money, he can do what he likes.

maybe instead of whining about it on a computer that 90% of the population of the world can't afford, you should sell it and feed poor people, or go to africa and become a missionary - thought not, hypocrite ;)

How do you know I've not been to Africa? You assume so much young man.

But you own a pc and a internet connection so why are you wasting that money on something you don't need to live, just give it to the poor kids.

if he had £52 million in the bank, then the expense would be as equivalent to him as it is for me to buy a £100 bottle of champagne.

It's perhaps excessive, but Monaco is a place of excess. All things are relative and while there ARE children dying in the world, that can't be an excuse for anyone to not spend money.

At some point in my life, I might buy a £100 bottle of champagne instead of giving it to charity. SORRY.

Edit: I fancied doing some maths:

He bought 81.75L worth making each glass (6oz /177.4ml) worth £716. 460 of them!

You may have quoted the wrong person, and I asked you if you had been to Africa, so I presume nothing.

You might like to know that Charles Shakers Company, Providence Wealth Corporation donates to and sponsors a wide range of charities and foundations, including Children's Hospitals and Orphanages as well as Long Term Care for the Elderly and Charles Shaker through his company donations and sponsorship is well known for his philanthropy.

Perhaps you should aim your wealth envy elsewhere. And I am not "your young man".

The money didn't dissapear it went to the club owner and champange maker and other people. They are free to spend it on starving children.

This reminds me of "The Big Questions" where a flamebait question is reeled out so that a set of mostly numpties can argue over it. God that program annoys me so much.

I don't see how it's immoral. I'd say it's inspirational, who wouldn't want to be able to drop a third of a million quid on champagne apart from socialists and religious folks?

If I was a billionaire I'd spend my money on pointless things just to annoy people like the OP ;)
