Is this monitor any good for games?

I was thinking of getting this Samsung SM225BW 22 Inch £234.99 is this monitor any good for playing games on the pc and ps3?

I was thinking of connecting the pc to it by vga and connecting the ps3 to it by dvi and setting it to 1080p so the monitor would downscale it.

The 226BW is a newer version of that monitor, with supposedly less backlight bleed. It's also at "This week only" prices:

Unless you've heard otherwise I think it's unlikely the monitor will downscale 1080p.

I have, other people who have it have said they have the resolution set at 1900x1200 and it downscales it.

Fair enough, although 1900*1200 isn't the same as 1080p, and it's possible their video card was downscaling the image to 1680*1050 before outputting it. I know my Dell 2007WFP (same res as the Samsung) won't accept 1080p through VGA or DVI.
