Hi

I'm trying to workout what stepping etc my AMD 64 3000+ 939 is. If possible I'd like to work it out without having to put the cpu back in my computer. Below are the numbers and letters that are etched onto the CPU.

ADA3000DAA4BW
NBBWE 0611BAA
X044637C61772

From the research I've done scouring the net, my best guess is it is the same as whats in the image below.

Hopefully one of you kind souls could confirm if I am correct or not ?

Also from what I've read/seen it looks to be a very overclockable processor so thats an extra selling point when I put it on ebay :)

Yeah your CPU-Z shot matches up with the ADA3000DAA4BW specs here.

As for overclocking, don't be makining any claims that you can't provide screenshots of.

Can't claim that your CPU will overclock to that level because someone else's did, though. All CPUs are different, plus OCs are dependent on the platform. Only put in the auction what you can prove.

ok I understand what your saying. If I wrote it is very overclockable but that is dependent on their hardware, do you think that is ok ?

That phrase is for a very clockable CPU that will need supporting hardware, not that it depends on the CPU, which is what matters here.

If you find others with the stepping: NBBWE 0611BAA that have overclocked well you could say it is a stepping with potential (provide links).

the 2nd picture I posted is pretty much the same cpu (looking at the details). I don't think its too much of a stretch just to say it has 'overclocking potential'. Its not as if I'm lying as all cpus I've ever read about can be overclocked (correct me if I'm wrong).

correct me if I'm wrong
You are, there isn't enough in a CPU-Z screenshot to talk about the CPU in overclocking. You can talk about a core as usually decent but the stepping of a CPU is far more important (and even within a stepping/week there can be a sizable variance).

Let the buyer decide what potential it has (give them the top two lines, ADA3000DAA4BW and NBBWE 0611BAA) don't advertise based on what you don't know!

ok m8 thanks for the explanation, I think i'll just say that processors of this type are usually good for overclocking but I never tested this particular cpu.
