Is this normal for DOMS?

Sorry if this is a silly question. Got summer holidays so decided to do hundred push ups challenge. One of my pecs is a lil bigger than the other, not bothered about this, just the way I'm built. However, the DOMS are a bit more intense in my bigger pec than in my smaller pec. Is this right? Also, I only really got doms in my chest, and a bit in my abs, not much anywhere else. Am I doing anything wrong?

DOMS is a bit of a mystery are you sure your form is correct and you're not leaning over to your strong side (bigger pectoral?)

DOMS affects everyone differently, a lucky mate of mine seems to get 0 DOMS no matter how hard he trains :(

Lucky?

DOMs are the 2nd best feeling in the world, just behind the pump.
I couldn't train without getting DOMs, I'm ashamed that I haven't felt DOMs in my lats yet.

Yeah I always seem to struggle to really get DOMS in my lats. I only have to imagine squatting to get it in my legs though!

I must be lucky, I always get DOMs in my lats.

To the OP I have similar when training biceps, I seem to get more in my right than left, from my POV it would seem your larger (right) pectorial is doing more of the pushing and hence DOMs seem to be more intense in it.

The DOMS I get the morning after is crippling so I tend to think about it as a bad thing :D The day after that though it is a nice feeling :)

So that means, if it's doing more work, it could grow even more out of proportion  ;)

I dont have enough knowledge to give you a full and accurate answer, it is just my point of view. As far as I'm aware the growth difference would not be noticeable unless it carrys on for a long time.

One key thing you could attempt is to try and 'feel' the left pectorial more when you're working it out, put some mental emphasis into it and see if that helps? It's an idea a member of my gym gave me when doing bicep/ tricep workouts, concerntrate on the weaker side and work the stronger side to the same level as the weaker. Example being if I can only do 6 reps of 25kg dumbell bicep curl on my left then I would do the same on the right even if I could push the right side a couple of more. Althou this may be difficult with chest exercises.

Another question, sorry guys. I think I'm allergic to any kind of protein shake

It's weird. Whenever I drink one, usually afterwards, I feel my throat swelling up a bit, and to make it go away, I have to start bringing up phlegm. It sounds weird, but it's happened to me with several different brands now. How can I stop it? Could it be a hydration issue? Today I have only drunk about 400ml of water. It might even be indigestion, but I try to drink it really slowly.

Thanks, I will try that next time :)

You know, I have the friend who tought the exact same thing. And then I introduced him to GVT. I made sure he didn't cheat on any of the reps, the next 3-4 days he cold barely bring the fork to his mouth, oh the amount of fun I made of him... :D

Can't really call them best feeling, especially as I used to walk like a disabled person for 2-3 days after training legs, and steps were complete murder. If you're not getting doms in your lats, then your form might be incorrect and you're not focusing on them. You are using too much biceps when working them, and need to address that. ;)

Do you mean from push ups? Because I sort of feel my lats working when doing them, but I only get DOMS in chest and abs.

I know, that's why in the gym rats I've been asking for tips on getting the correct form. Will get them this week for sure.

no, I was referring to Aedus' post about not getting DOMS in his lats.

While there is a bit of lat engagement in push ups, the main area targeted is chest, so there is where you should get doms.

As for abs, well you are keeping your body tensed for the whole time, so this is also normal.
