Is this normal?

Hi I just overclocked my i7 2600k for the first time when I open CPU z it shows that my CPU is running at 4.5 MHz and multiplier at x45 but then when I run prime 95 my CPU drops to 4.1 MHz and the multiplier drops to x42

Is that normal?

its not right,set all the turbo ratio's to auto and just set the cpu multi to 45x

what board?

not had any experience with msi

are the turbo ratio's on auto? if they are try setting those aswell to 45x each

I can't see anything in the bios saying turbo ratio could there be another name for it on my board

I've got a primary plane turbo power limit and secondary plane turbo power limit

not sure,can you test with 5 runs intel burn test (standard test) see if it stays at 4.5ghz

could be prime95 not stressing the cpu to the max
