OK got this case about a week ago , its a Fractal Design Define R4 Midi Tower Case

opened it up today ( about 10 minutes ago ) and saw this on the end of the hd audio lead



To me it looks like what I would expect to be inside of one of those wires ?

My advice is to try it, I don't think anyone will definitively be able to tell.

Are the front panel cables sheilded? Rest of the connector looks intact so likely just shielding that didn't get covered correctly.

well all of the cables are covered in black plastic

if thats what you mean ?

And if so...what should I do please....leave it as it is or just remove the cable itself as it's probably not going to be used anyway ?

If your not going to use it, then just coil it up and cable tie it out the way

I meant electrically sheilded. Usually use thin bare wire that's wrapped around the main insulated signal cables to reduce electronic noise. The cable itself should be fine, if your worried about it and its not going to be used wrap some electrical tape around it for peace of mind.

It looks like they have used screened cabled ans not trimmed the strands far enough back when applying the heat-shrink.

I was just gonna tuck the little bit sticking out back inside the heat shrink , be ok yeah ? lol
