Is This Out Of Order?

Jogging springs to mind

you didn't sell him the car, it's not your problem.

He should have checked all the paperwork before buying the car anyway.

what the hell, OCUK PARANOIA !!

just a polite "I've sold the car and all documentation went with it, I can't offer you anything else I'm sorry" would suffice here.

He's just a guy who's brought a car and trying to get the docs for it, I would imagine dealer/Auctions are pretty efficient at losing paperwork etc.

Got to agree with you. Contact once would be okay. I also agree the coming back later would be too far. But other than that, I have tried to contact previous owners in the past for things.

Well he's not come back round so guess he either found the service book or realised should be talking to where he bought the car.

Appreciate the advice, guys.

Had this when I sold my first ever car a Peugeot 206. The new buyer sent multiple letters asking questions about the car. I bought the car for £1k when I was 17 and sold 3 years later at 20 for £300 as part of a part exchange. What was he expecting?

The only time I've ever got hold of someone after parting ways with a car (MGTF which such a Friday afternoon car that it had an engine replacement!) was to offload the hard top which was still sat in my parents garage. Glad I did as it was a few extra quid and the new owner was very pleased to get a hard top that matched.

For something special or niche I'd not hesitate to speak to a previous owner, but for an old corsa bought at auction... I don't know what planet some people are on. Must have been a trader for sure.
