Is this overclock safe?

I have a athlon II 255 3100mhz Clocked at 3559Mhz
I have set the voltage at 1.24000 on the HT - not sure what that means
and Put the PCI overclock at 100

It seems ok at the CPU is idle at 35 degrees, is that voltage safe? It boots up ok and have noticed speed improvements, I will be running prime 95, but does that look ok?

Whats the maximum HT voltage that I can go? I have a ASUS M4N68T-M LE V2 motherboard

Thanks.

HT is hyper transport and its the bus that connects your CPU to your chipset.

as for voltages, I have been as yet unsuccessful in my search for a datasheet but I will look a bit more later if no one else can answer you from memory.

hope this helps

I eventually clocked it to 3.8Ghz on 1.38V which is my motherboards maximum
on prime it lasts for about 10mins so if I set it at 3.78/79 it should become stable. I really wanted it to push to 4Ghz as the temps are still low cause on the torture test it only hits 50 degrees, but my motherboards volts don't go any higher on the HT and I don't know how to use the other settings :/
The multipliers currently at 246.

never played with AMD stuff but didn't the OP ask for the HT voltage? pretty sure 1.55 is the max Vcore for that chip

sorry if this is idiotic

No idea on the HT voltage as i'm really pure Intel these days, but yes its vcore that 1.55v (though i'm not sure if its safe) is about.

Knowing only very little about the platform in question myself...

Your HT voltage is nothing to do with your CPU frequency, I think it has a separate multiplier, unless your changing this, you probably don't want to touch this voltage.

TBH if you care about your stuff, don't change a voltage unless you know EXACTLY what it does and you really, really don't want to be maxing it out not knowing what it does!

If your only changing the CPU multi, you probably will only need to change the Vcore.

read a guide before going any further, have a look on some forums for some other peoples experiences with the chip.

WHAT HAVE I DONE! what does the HT voltage do? could I have damaged my system/graphics card O.O I have now realised my mistake and that the option under it was the CPU overvoltage, I have turned it down to auto, put the cpu overvoltage to to 1.45v and set the multiplier to 250 and running at 3.85Ghz

so has any damage been done? is the cpu overvoltage the right settings :'(

are we talking Vcore now and not HT?

if so you need to be keeping an eye on your temps, it could get really quite warm under prime at 1.55V if you don't have a high end cooler

I would recommend increasing it in steps running prime for a bit and just taking note of the temps so you know what your maximum voltage is likely to be with your cooler

hope this helps
