can a mulitple hdd in raid or whateve have transfer speeds of 50gb/s,, not including sdd drives?? Cos someone says he can copy stuff at 50gb/s. I find that very hard to believe.

is that gigabytes or gigabits?

sounds like custom built setup if it can do those sorts of speeds.

Hes more than likely speaking out of his ass. Not even high end servers i.e. SAS Drives in RAID-10 have near that I/O throughput.

I think my Areca controller maxes out at around 1.2GB/s (12Gbit). The problem of course is getting drives that can max the Areca out.

You can also quite easily delete the windows directory. Or the bootloader. Doesnt mean that you should though . . .

He's talking rubbish. I'm not certain even a 16x PCI-E 2.0 slot can transfer that much data let alone the cards.

I think PCI-E 2.0 lanes have a max theoretical bandwidth of 500MB/s so a 16x lane slot would max out at 8GB/s.
