That looks good, but I had setup recommended to me for the same sort of price range. Take a look.

I think this has everything that your setup has, apart from the OS, but it's got a better Gpu and is slightly cheaper. ;)

This, but;

Sapphire 5850, as it's cheaper and a more reliable warranty from what I've read. You may lose Dirt2 here, but the i5 comes with a voucher anyway :)
GeiL Ultra RAM, faster (2133MHz max), and cheaper too.
i5 Retail, because that extra 2 years of warranty are always good, and a spare fan incase the Freezer 7 decides to die on you for whatever reason (saves having a useless PC while you await a replacement).

Also, if you purchase before Wednesday pick up this power supply, £2 more, 100w extra to play with and the same brand otherwise the 600w will do fine. I love 'This Week Only' deals ;)

/facepalm missed OS

Drop from a 5850 to a 5770 to recoup the £100 or so for the OS, Crossfire them later down the line if needs be.

Not much point in that spec seeing as he obviously needs an OS...

He could quite easily add in the OS to that spec himself. ;)

@ OP Buying a cheaper case would bring the cost down a little if you want to stick below £850 and still get an OS.

The Build above seems fine to me, although you may want to check out 95Thrifes' thread about builds, he knows where to put money into a good build

wow cheers for the quick replies guys, it's greatly appreciated.
ok so first off is the 5850 worth the extra cash compared to the 5770?
secondly is the i5 any better than the amd?
thanks again

*Hugs my 4 copies of home premium @ £45 a pop*

What those guys have posted are great builds. Over in the Graphics card forum some guy was asking about 5750's in crossfire. Apparently they rate very well in Xfire, might be worth considering buying one of them now and getting a second later.

I would think carefully about what graphics card you buy. Base your decision on the games you actually play, I play 80% Source based games so I am more cpu dependent over graphics. So for me a 5850/5870 would be overkill, I went for the 5770 Asus, but should have gone 5750, with a view to crossfire when BF:BC2 comes out.

Just think about it thats what I'm saying.

ok so i've took on a bit of everybody's advice and have come with this, it's £50 more but seems a lot better. again thanks for the help given.

The AMD 965 is only equal to the 750 i5. Now I'm a fan of the AMDs but you need to pick up a nice £65 motherboard to make them a good value for money proposition. If you're going to spend over £100 on the motherboard, you may as well get an i5.
