Hi everyone,

I am building a sort of budget PC for just under £500. I'm not epic at computer parts seeming this is my first build. Please tell me if these parts will work with each other:

I need a quite powerful one to run a server from it, and keep up with programs.
Its all from ********, is there anywhere better???

By the way I want an AMD Quad Core. They seem to be more powerful.

With the OS I'm going to get Windows 7 64bit and then Dual boot Ubuntu alongside.

Intel is generally faster than amd and that spec oliver suggested looks pretty good.

Server? what server? GFX cards have very little to do with server applications

AMD are very rarely more powerfull than intel, but this depends on task.. elaborate more on what this machine is for

If it's for a server, then you don't need a GPU with Intel processors and motherboards (well, most of them). That gives room for a quad-core.

server AND computer... Hence the need for a powerful Processor, personally, if I wasn't hosting a gaming server I would stick to a dual core with 8GB of RAM and a decent Graphics Card.
