Is this sad?

My car does around 15mpg and is a weekend driver so no I don't really care :)

But it's not sad that you do, I'm like that with money in general.

I am about to go through the invoices and histories for all my cars and then create a spreadsheet of what is needed, costs etc.

Problem with owning several cars from the 90's is maintenance :(

i used to to keep a record of of fuel, but gave up, as it depressed me.. i don't really tot up maintenance, just keep all the reciepts..

I keep, now at least, a spreadsheet detailing everything that goes into each car :)

Not for any real reason, more as a matter of interest. The classics are certainly cheaper to run for the most part....

The calculations seem off to me in your post, bledd. Unless you are buying obscenely expensive petrol. (ignoring the decimal placing error).

Anyway, no i dont keep a record of it at all. It wont save me money to do so, so what is the point? I use what i am going to use.

I don’t keep a record of fuel etc for budget use. I had a company car a year or so ago and decided to keep a track of my fuel usage (along with mpg whilst I was at it) in case of any admin issues. The habit has stuck.

I used to, but for me its pretty much a sunk cost, got no other choice! To replace my car for a more 'frugal' car would be expensive.

I don't document fuel usage but I'm a bit anal with noting down money spent be it on maintenance, additions to the car, modifications etc. Always done it, it's really sad, my mates rip me for it and to be honest it just shows what a massive waste of money cars are when you come to sell the thing.

But, I can't break the habit! lol :)

I use, and quite like, fuelly for tracking fuel costs for the bike (commute on it, so 25miles per day roughly). Not many data points yet, but hopefully as time wears on I'll be interested to see the trend, as well as keep a track on how much it costs over a year. I'll obviously have to factor service costs into that too, but they're fairly rare.

Yes, I really did give it a name :)
