Is this salvageable?

I snapped the pin cover off the sata connection on my 160GB sata Deskstar. Until now its been fine.. But with having to wire in a new case I've had to take it out... And I've been unfortunate enough to snap one of the pins off the sata connector

Now I don't think I'm gunna be able to save it... But if I can could someone tell me how?

I would say that the drive doesn't have a long term future but I suppose it depends what value you place on the data on the drive. If you could find an IDENTICAL drive you should be able to take the PCB off the new drive and fit it to the old one to retrieve the data.

It's not really that as the drive had been pretty much wiped ready for as fresh install of Windows.. But if the drive has had it then it looks like I'm gunna be shelling out for a new one

Rip off the top cover, cut a big hole, replace with clear acrylic then reassemble. You now have a lovely paperweight
